Who is the InvestmentPlus Series within GIF Select appropriate for?

InvestmentPlus is an attractive option for clients seeking flexibility, the growth potential of leading investment funds, plus the basic protection of a segregated fund contract – all at a low cost. InvestmentPlus is also an attractive option for small business owners who are looking for potential creditor protection, to help protect their personal assets from professional liabilities.

What are some of the basic protection features of the InvestmentPlus Series within the GIF Select segregated fund contract?

  • 75% maturity guarantee of all deposits at age 100.
  • 75% death benefit guarantee of all deposits at death.
  • Potential for creditor protection of assets
  • Ability to bypass probate and avoid the costs associated with probate¹

Can I invest in InvestmentPlus and other Series within GIF Select or move my InvestmentPlus funds into a different Series with GIF Select?

Yes, you can hold multiple Series within the same GIF Select contract. When moving to a new Series i.e. from InvestmentPlus to IncomePlus or EstatePlus, new product information, forms and signatures are required. Talk to your advisor for more information.

What is the maximum age that I can make deposits to InvestmentPlus?

December 31st of the year the annuitant reaches age 90. Deposits after December 31st in the year the annuitant turns age 80 will be restricted to Front-end (FE) and Low-load (LL) sales charge options.

Can I switch from InvestmentPlus to IncomePlus or EstatePlus?

Switches are allowed from InvestmentPlus to IncomePlus or EstatePlus (if the annuitant is under the maximum issue age)2. Switches from other investment Series to InvestmentPlus are not allowed.
